Out with Mom

Mom loves to take Kaylee to the Nutcracker ballet

performance every year. But this year, you

were finally old enough to be able to come with us.

So this us waiting for the ballet to begin.

A fun moment out with Mom.

Temple lights

A family tradition of our's is to go see the temple lights

every Christmas season. On this night, we happened

upon our family's friend, the Babcocks. You had fun running

around the grounds with Travis and Courtney. Their family was

kind enough to offer us hot cocoa and cookies afterwards.

Later we went towards the entry of the temple to see

the fountain and take a peek into the lobby. This night

turned out to be a cold and windy but lovely evening.

Ballet Halloween party

This is you and Savannah at your ballet class together.

There was a halloween party where you could

come dressed up in your costume for class.

Someone forgot to mention that to us so you missed

out on being able to dress up. Mom really did

feel bad about it, but look how adorable you two are anyway.

Good friends

Good friends are hard to beat!

You have known Travis and Courtney your whole life thus far.

Travis and you are the same age and

Courtney is a year younger. Their family has been

our family's friends for many years. We've done lots of thing

with them...from ward parties, BBQ's, seeing the temple lights,

and play dates. You and Travis started kindergarten

together and were in the same class.

You are lucky to have such good, fun friends.

Sweetness

There's nothing like a sweet,

adorable chocolate face!!

Our neighbor Brian

Our neighbor Brian really adores you.

He has always been a good friend to your parents.

He tells your Mom all the time that her kids are the only kids he likes.

Brian has always been so endearing to each of you.

He is a friend and a protector whenever he can be.

He loves to pinch your cheeks...and you think it's annoying!!

We appreciate all the kindness he shows to you.

My Kindergarten teacher

This is your kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Smith.

You really liked her. She was a nice

teacher. She is the one who helped you learn

your ABC's and taught you to read your first words.

Such dedication she devoted to you and

your classmates.

Swimming fun

Jaynee loves to swim...on occasion. Since her "almost drowning" incident in the bathtub,

she's always been afraid of the water. The sound of the tub faucet running would send her into a frenzy. So you can imagine what swimming in a pool might be like to her and for us. But with that said, she still attempted swim lessons. Which went pretty good considering. Every summer you attempt new things in the swimming pool. This time around you were able to jump from the side of the pool. A huge accomplishment for you...for now!

My little helper

Jaynee loves to help Mom all around the house.

Especially when Mom is baking. Mom loves that

she has the desire to try things out, even

if she's never done them before. She's

always wanting to be involved with

anything that is going on around her.

Nothing passes this girl up!!!

Kindergarten program

The theme for your end of the year

Kindergarten program was "Nursery Rhymes".

You were one of the flowers in Mary's garden.

It was so fun to see all the

classes perform together. And that

you were so brave to do your parts.

Savannah

Savannah and Jaynee.

So girlie, so silly, so much fun!

Savannah has been one of your friends

since you two met when you were

both 2 years old. You both share

birthday's in the same month too.

Tired

Running errands with Mom.

Tired....enough said!!

Royalties

Jaynee loves to watch the royalty girls

as they go passing by in parades.

We love that she's not afraid to wave to them.

I think she hopes to be one someday.

Soccer girl

This was your first year playing soccer.

And you loved it!

Even though it was hard at times to keep

running, you perservered through it.

You and your friend Abby were the

best players on the team.

Even a little competitive with each other at times.

Mom loved your pink cleats...Dad didn't so much.

We were so proud of you for sticking through this challenge.

Hardworker

Hardwork and determination is never

far when it comes to our little Jaynee.

She was determined to help Dad clean up and 

sweep the garage. And when she puts her mind to

something, there's no stopping her. Even if it's

90+ degrees outside! A little sweat and hardwork never pulled

you away from doing what you wanted to accomplish.

I love that your baby doll sat patiently waiting

for you to tend to her again.

We were so proud of you for your huge accomplishment.

Crazy teeth

Yikes! Someone hasn't been brushing

their teeth! Haha...these fake teeth are

leftover from your Halloween witch costume.

Our little Jaynee is such a good sport when

it comes to taking pictures. She'll pose

for you anytime, even if she

hasn't brushed in a while.

Crazy lips

Mom found some suckers at a drug store that

had crazy, plastic lips attached to the

ends of them.

I couldn't resist not buying them because I thought

for sure they would be a blast!

Little Mary

Our little Mary with her newborn babe.

It's a Christmas tradition every year for us to get together with the Awerkamps on Christmas Eve. There is always a rendition of the Nativity performed on that night.

And Jaynee is always asked to be Mary since the older girls are no longer small enough.

She loves to do it, but this year she said, "Mom, I don't know if I want to be

Mary this time." I said, "why not?" Jaynee said, "because the baby Jesus always

looks like he's been chewed up by the DOG!"

Well, I would have a problem with Jesus looking like he's been chewed up a dog too.

Needless to say, Jaynee brought her own doll this time and agreed to be Mary.

The Giant Bear

We found this giant teddy bear as we were

shopping one day at Harmons.

The bear was exactly your size.

You were not going to let me pass by that bear

until you were able to hold it and give it hug.

There's nothing like "bear" hugs!!

Especially when the bear is as big as YOU!

Snow day

"No school", they said.

"For snow in St. George?", I said.

Completely in shock!!

There was enough snow that the school district

authorized an official "snow day".

It was fun to see all the kids around the neighborhood

outside playing in the snow. Some were making

snowmen and some were having snowball fights.

Hooray for "Snow Days"!!!

Gingerbread men

The yummiest part of Christmas is making cookies.

"You can't catch me...I'm the gingerbread man."

"No, no, I won't come back...I'd rather run

than be your snack!"

Gingerbread cookies, icing, candies and some creative

imagine make the funnest treat.

"And he ran, and ran and ran!"

Halloween

Pumpkins, ghosts and witches...oh my!!!

Jaynee loves Halloween and being able to dress up.

She always encourages me to decorate for every holiday.

Halloween always includes the school's parade

and showing off her costume with friends.

Kaylee loves to dress up Jaynee and

take pictures of her. It's kind of the

sisterly thing to do. I think she

really likes it too.

Pretty in PINK

Pretty in pink is what you are.

Jaynee loves to play dress up.

Especially if she knows her sister is willing

do one of her photo shoots.

It doesn't always mean it's going to be

perfect, but when you're pretty

in pink...it doesn't matter!!

Babies are the best

Jaynee thinks babies are the best!

She's always in a daze, often distracted,

amazed and mismerized over them.
She has loved babies from the time she could hold one,
and was the best baby herself.

Even her dollies make the best babies.
